Cool Fidget Spinner Tricks

For many kids, a fidget spinner is the latest must-have gadget.cool fidget spinner tricks The tiny three-pronged toys — often described as the new stress ball — are sold at toy stores, 7-Elevens and gas stations and are touted as a way for children to relax and concentrate. But for some, the devices are a distraction that can cause headaches and ringing in the ears. Others are so obsessed with them that they’re unable to concentrate in school and drive their parents crazy. The phenomenon is so intense that some schools are banning them, while toy stores are selling out of the gadgets.

When Christine Osborne, the owner of several toy stores in South Carolina, first started hearing about fidget spinners, she was pretty skeptical.cool fidget spinner tricks It’s not that she doesn’t like the idea of kids occupying their hands with something useful, but she felt that it was a fad that would quickly pass. But when she saw students at her stores frantically spinning their spinners in their hand and looking down at them, she realized she had underestimated just how popular the device would become.

It’s a fad that’s also sweeping classrooms, with teachers posting their frustrations about students’ spinner obsession on Twitter and Reddit. Some are advising their students to use putty or stress balls that are less distracting, as they’re more classroom-ready and don’t require the visual attention that the spinners do.

The spinners that most people have today don’t look much like Hettinger’s original design. They’re typically shaped like snowflake or sun-shaped toy tops with three arms that spin on tiny ball bearings. The arms can be made of plastic, metal or even ceramic, and people have come up with a variety of different sizes and shapes, including ones that are so small they can fit on the palm of your hand.

While some adults are jumping on the fidget spinner bandwagon, there’s no real scientific evidence that the devices alleviate anxiety or help with ADHD and autism. They’re simply small toys that can be entertaining to play with if you know some cool tricks.

Tip: For a cool trick, try spinning your spinner and catching it as it falls. It requires good finger coordination to perform, but it’s sure to impress your friends!

To do this, hold your spinner with the pads on either side of the center (called “prongs”). Then, move your fingers into a grip that’s a little wider than normal. Flick your index finger against your thumb to start it spinning, then use your middle and ring fingers to keep the spinner in place while you transfer it between your hands. If you do it right, the spinner should continue to spin as you move it between your fingers. Keep practicing and you can even perform a double-spinner switch. That’s sure to get your friends wondering what you’re doing with all those hands!
